First Responder Trauma
Nature of your job, besides providing care, you respond to unexpectedness, emergency, witnessing life and death.
You experience fight/flight/freeze when you face something that is shocking to your nervous system, this is how you are able to carry on to do the job.
This psychological physiological affects are kept in a container and eventually this container fills up.
This container needs to be empty so that you can enjoy your wellness. Otherwise, living with a full container of shocking experiences, your health is negatively affected and then you feel unwell.
In order to sustain an optimum mind and body wellness, a regular visit to a psychotherapist who specializes in trauma, will be ideal.
